About the role

Sterling Flight Training is a FAR-approved Part 141 flight training school located at Florida’s Jacksonville Executive at Craig Airport (KCRG). We seek a motivated A&P mechanic to provide aircraft maintenance on our general aviation fleet of piston Piper and Cessna aircraft. Responsibilities

  • Perform 100-hour inspections and assist with annual inspections as well as various repairs across a fleet of Piper and Cessna aircraft.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with the company’s policies, General Maintenance Manual, Manufacturer’s Maintenance Manuals, and current CFRs.
  • Perform all work with a safety-first mentality.
  • Document all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance items in a timely manner.
  • Perform quality control and assurance of aircraft maintenance activities, including overhaul, modification, maintenance, and repair of aircraft structures, engines, and accessories.
  • Keep all company maintenance facilities and equipment clean and organized for efficient workflow.

Reports to the Director of Maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Valid Airframe and Powerplant License (preferred).
  • Cessna and Piper piston aircraft experience (preferred).
  • At least 18 years old and a high school graduate.
  • Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a ten-year background/criminal/OMV/drug screen.

Skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to multitask various projects and complete them in a timely manner.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Veryon, and FSP (preferred).
  • Cooperative team member with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and complete tasks with a sense of urgency.
  • Desire for continuous improvement and willingness to embrace role variations.

Pay

Pay range: $23–$29/hour, depending on experience and certifications.

Schedule

Generally Monday–Friday, 1st shift. Work/life balance encouraged.
