Job Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction in aircraft maintenance topics, including powerplants, electrical systems, structures, hydraulics, and FAA regulations, ensuring alignment with course objectives and industry standards.
- Develop, update, and maintain course materials, syllabi, and instructional methods; participate in the design and continuous improvement of aviation programs and curriculum.
- Advise students on academic progress, career pathways, and program requirements; maintain office hours and support student success through mentoring and referrals.
- Evaluate student performance through testing, practical assessments, and coursework; maintain accurate records and provide timely feedback.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and industry partners; assist with student recruitment, program promotion, and job placement activities.
- Participate in college service, committees, and professional development; stay current with industry trends, FAA regulations, and instructional best practices.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
- An associate degree in education, training, instructional methods, or a related field, and three (3) years of aircraft maintenance experience; OR a minimum of five (5) years of current aircraft maintenance experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
- Candidates must also have a FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification. Candidates without certification must obtain required credentials within two (2) years of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching in a post-secondary or technical training environment, with a strong understanding of FAA Part 147 programs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance, including powerplants, propulsion systems, structural repair, electrical systems, hydraulics, and FAA compliance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently, provide excellent customer service, and adapt to evolving technologies and instructional methods.
