Aircraft Logs & Records Tech

About the role

The Logs & Records Technician supports U.S. Navy Aviation maintenance operations at NAS Oceana Virginia Beach, Va. VFA-106. They manage aircraft logbooks, Aeronautical Equipment Service Records, and Aircraft Discrepancy Books to ensure efficient aircraft maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Manage aircraft logbooks, Aeronautical Equipment Service Records, and Aircraft Discrepancy Books.
• Provide Maintenance Control with up-to-date scheduled aircraft maintenance, periodic inspections, and component replacement reports.
• Inventorize, configure, and report on components and assemblies installed on aircraft/equipment with AESR, MSR, ASR, EHR, SRC.
• Perform up to 7 days and 40 hours a week of shift work and detachments.

Requirements

• Must obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum four (4) years’ actual and recent organizational level aircraft maintenance experience.
• Completed military aviation maintenance training or maintenance technical school curriculum.
• Support Equipment Configuration Management course (CDP 9036).
• Valid Virginia or North Carolina Driver license (if North Carolina resident).

Qualifications

• Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Self-motivated and works with minimal supervision.
• Meets physical requirements associated with and/or passes any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.

Pay

$32.77 per hour plus $7.80 per hour for Health & Welfare.
