Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Determines airworthiness of work performed.
  • Examines aircraft, engines, components and materials by using NDT and visual means and records results of inspections to ensure continued airworthiness.
  • Process daily incoming and outgoing material to meet Quality Control requirements as stated in the AAR Procedures Manual and Customer Requirements Manual.
  • Interface with suppliers / product line to disposition rejects.
  • Perform NDT inspections in compliance with customer work instructions, and AAR procedures and policies.
  • Record all inspection functions on applicable paperwork in accordance with the customer policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) of Aircraft and Components.
  • Have the skills and knowledge to interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the NDT method(s) as used by the employer.
  • Shall be capable of assuming technical responsibility for the NDT facility and staff.
  • Be capable of selecting the method and technique for a specific inspection.
  • Be capable of preparing and verifying the adequacy of procedures and work instructions.
  • Approve NDT procedures and work instructions for technical adequacy.
  • Have a general knowledge of other NDT methods, product manufacturing, and inspection technologies used by the employer.
  • When specified in the written practice, have a basic knowledge of aircraft or vehicle maintenance.
  • Be capable of providing or directing training, examination, and certification of personnel.
  • Conduct NDT for the acceptance of parts and document the results if a demonstration of proficiency in this ability was included in the practical examination.
  • When specified in the written practice, be capable of auditing outside agencies to ensure the requirements of the written practice are met.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Requirements For The Job:
    • NAS410 Level II certification for one or more applicable Non-destructive Testing (NDT) disciplines, such as ultrasonic, eddy current.
    • Ability to correctly use one or more types of applicable NDT equipment.
    • 3-4 years experience in aircraft NAS410 Non-destructive Testing (NDT).
    • Familiar with aircraft manufacturers technical documentation.
    • Ability to read and interpret ADs, S/Bs, SRMs, industry NDT specifications and other work instructions.
    • Familiar with regulatory requirements of FAR 145 repair station.
    • FAA Airframe rating is required, both FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License preferred.

Education And/or Experience

  • Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school;
  • or 4-years related experience and/or training;
  • or Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility.
  • The environmental characteristic for this position is a warehouse setting.
  • Candidates should be able to adapt to a traditional warehouse environment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds and comply with OSHA standards
