Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee complex aircraft inspections.
- Develop and implement inspection protocols.
- Ensure accurate and detailed documentation of findings.
- Address and resolve significant compliance issues.
- Lead training and mentorship programs for junior inspectors.
- Conduct periodic audits of maintenance processes.
Qualifications
- You Must Have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
- Advanced knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment and parts.
- A thorough understanding and experience with the practical application of product audit and inspection processes and procedures.
- Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
- (If FAA Repair Station) Thoroughly familiar with the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness of aviation products after maintenance.
- (If FS) Ability to deploy for an extended amount of time to various OCONUS operating locations.
- (If FS) Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations.
- (If FS) Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
- (If FS) Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays and shift schedules as required.
- (If FS) Current/ valid passport and be able to obtain a visa to travel internationally.
- (If Deploy Only) Willing to deploy OCONUS on an approximate 60/60 rotation.
- (If Deploy Only) Willing to deploy OCONUS on an approximate 90/90 rotation.
- (If Deploy Only) Willing to deploy OCONUS on an approximate 60/30 rotation.
- (If Deploy Only) Willing to deploy OCONUS on an approximate 90/30 rotation.
- (If Deploy Only) Willing to deploy OCONUS on an approximate 90/45 rotation.
- (If FAA Repair Station) Understanding of 14 CFR Chapter 1.
- (If FAA Repair Station) Thorough understanding of civil or government aviation inspection operations and/or FAA Repair Station operations.
- (If FAA Repair Station) Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation.
- (If FAA Repair Station) Experience with first article inspections.
- (If FAA Repair Station) Prior experience with aircraft modifications.
- (If FAA Repair Station) Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
Essential Functions
- Lift up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
- Stand, walk, and climb ladders or stairs frequently.
- Work in diverse environmental conditions.
