Aircraft Engineer Level 1

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering solutions that support safety, reliability, and airworthiness policies and procedures.
• Develop cost-effective standards and recommendations that meet company aircraft specifications through coordination and collaboration with component and aircraft manufacturers.
• Manage, track, and implement certification approvals from beginning to end, including obtaining proper funding to accomplish assigned projects.
• Develop solutions to reduce cost, such as alternate repairs, material approvals, and technological improvements.
• Review FAA and International Regulations for applicability to UPS, acting as project manager and obtaining funding to accomplish the requirements.
• Create technical work instructions for accomplishment within required timelines to maintain airworthiness compliance.
• Review and analyze aircraft data to determine areas where aircraft reliability can be improved via modifications, maintenance procedural changes, or other actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree – Mechanical, Aerospace, or other equivalent engineering degree.
• Ability to work different shifts, which can include nights and weekends when required.
• Likely to be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Prior Airline or Maintenance Repair Overhaul Facility experience (3 to 5 years of aviation experience preferred).
• Flexibility to travel both domestically and internationally.
• Proficiency in technical analysis and working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations or certification requirements.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to multi-task, and hands-on approach to projects.
