About the role
This position is responsible for the completion of key CFM 56 engine documentation projects on time and within scope as assigned by the Sr. Manager Technical Services. CFM Materials LP, a joint venture of GE and Safran Aircraft Engines, is the world's largest provider of used serviceable material for CFM56 engines, supporting companies worldwide through warehouses and sales offices near DFW Airport (TX, USA), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Cardiff (Wales), and Singapore.
Responsibilities
- Review engine files to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies before granting technical approval.
- Research, prepare, review, and complete engine technical reviews.
- Utilize O.E.M. engine shop manuals, specialized instructions, and regulatory requirements to assess engine status.
- Conduct daily engine file reviews in accordance with work instructions.
- Implement and maintain operating plans/strategies for each assigned program or engine.
- Ensure accuracy of documentation and work with sellers/consigners to correct documentation as required.
- Resolve issues related to the technical approval process, including traceability issues.
- Understand ISO, ASA, and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate progress and status to management and appropriate departments.
- Strengthen and refine department effectiveness continuously.
- Identify problems and recommend solutions for completing all project objectives.
- Coordinate with other internal departments to ensure compatibility with client needs.
- Work directly with clients.
Requirements
- College degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in a maintenance or repair department in an aviation or aerospace company.
- Capable of preparing, coordinating, and maintaining accurate detailed documentation necessary for technical approval.
- Knowledge of aviation/aerospace documentation and requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Skills
- Knowledge of aircraft turbojet engines and components operation.
- Experience working with jet engine technical documents and records.
- Well-organized, critical thinking, and ability to analyze technical data.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Sound technical judgment.
- Ability to effectively interface with all levels of internal and external customers.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality about company activities and action plans.
Desirable Qualifications
- A&P License.
- Willingness to obtain a Six-Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Knowledge of the CFM56 engine product lines and general aerospace rules and requirements.
- Knowledge of ISO9001/ASA-100 standards and general quality methods and tools.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. Travel may be required up to 10%, including international travel. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.
