Job Duties
- Performs the rewiring, modification, and troubleshooting of complex avionics/electronic systems.
- Performs aircraft inventory, acceptance, and inspections.
- Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
- Provides technical assistance and guidance as required by the position.
- Performs on and off aircraft electrical modification to electrical wiring and system components which includes but is not limited to: wire / harness / connector / component removal, installation, & repairs, routing, terminations, continuity checks, troubleshooting, and AC/DC & disturbed systems operational checks / verifications.
- Maintains assigned aircraft in accordance with Military Technical Orders, Manufacturer and Company Instructions.
- Affords technical assistance and guidance as required by the position.
- Assists with ordering parts, tools, materials, and equipment as required.
- Maintains cleanliness of your assigned work area.
- Responsible for adhering to all applicable Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention rules and regulations.
- Responsible for adhering to Company Tool Control Program.
- Reads, interprets, and applies instructions from Blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and other approved data.
- Must comply with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities, and job assignment.
- Ensures proper operation and use of special test equipment and Ground Support Equipment.
- Maintains appropriate records of all work accomplished.
- May be required to perform simple computer input functions.
- Must be able to perform other duties as assigned.
Material & Equipment
- Drive company vehicle.
- Operate ground support equipment required to perform daily job functions.
- Use provided test equipment and Ground Support Equipment to perform assigned tasks.
Working Environment
- Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and organize inventory within non-airconditioned hangar maintenance areas and outdoors flight line.
- Physical Activities: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to work on their feet for 10 hours.
Qualifications
- Five (5) years of documented aircraft electrical experience in inspection, modification, troubleshooting and repair.
- Strong aptitude to read and interpret aircraft electrical installation/routing drawings.
- Must have the ability to use meters, test equipment and standard calibration testing equipment.
- Always maintain training currency.
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to schedule job tasks to meet completion timeline.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain in force a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass a stringent background investigation.
- Must be able to utilize computer-based systems to perform duties.
- Must be willing/able to work any shift or schedule.
- Some travel possible, up to 25%.
