Aircraft Component Technician III

About the role

This senior aviation component technical role is considered an expert and a leader. Personnel performing maintenance functions report to the Lead Technician and are responsible for performing maintenance and alteration tasks on civil and government aviation articles in accordance with current technical data provided in the manufacturer’s instructions for continued airworthiness, service bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose difficult intermittent failures
• Lead major and/or complex repairs
• Conduct advanced troubleshooting
• Perform solid functional testing
• Identify manual discrepancies
• Promote, execute, and adhere to the company’s safety program
• Coordinate shop workflow schedule/functions/problems with the Lead Technician
• Work with Quality Manager to resolve/correct any maintenance-related discrepancies
• Ensure thorough familiarity with the inspection methods, techniques, aids, tools, and equipment used within their area of responsibility

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in aviation component repair
• Ability to satisfy a background investigation to obtain a security clearance
• Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license desired
• Must participate in a DOT-approved drug-testing program in accordance with FAA Part 121 regulations
