Airborne/Air Delivery Specialist (Parachute Rigger)

About the role

The Airborne/Air Delivery Specialist (Parachute Rigger) position supports MARSOC at Stone Bay, Camp Lejeune, NC. The role maintains, repairs, packs, and inspects personnel, cargo parachute systems, oxygen equipment and ancillary equipment in accordance with applicable Technical Manuals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, pack, and inspect personnel, cargo parachute systems, oxygen equipment and ancillary equipment in accordance with applicable Technical Manuals.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance as well as modifications and calibrations.
• Use AIS such as GCSS-MC.
• Hold FAA rating of Senior or Master Rigger, familiar with USMC/tactical parachute equipment, and graduate of the US Army (Joint) Parachute Rigger Course (in accordance with MCO 3120.11A).
• Support occasional off-site (CONUS) training and parachute operations.
• Obtain an operators’ license for non-tactical/tactical Government-owned equipment/vehicles, as required.

Requirements

• 6-8 years’ experience in relevant, progressive experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Active Secret Security Clearance.

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent.

Skills

• Familiarity with USMC/tactical parachute equipment.
• Graduate of the US Army (Joint) Parachute Rigger Course.
• FAA rating of Senior or Master Rigger.

Pay

$60,000

Schedule

Standard core working hours are 8 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday, but depending upon operational demands, the position could require some night and weekend work.

Physical Requirements

• Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
• Phone use and PC or laptop.
• Filing required.
• Lifting equipment and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 50 lbs.
• Bending, reaching, turning and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner.

Equipment and Machines Operation

• Non-tactical and/or tactical Government-owned equipment.
• General office equipment, which includes: telephone, fax machine, copier, PC/laptop, and other work related tools as required.

• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
• Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements.

• Grooming and dress usually business casual, but dependent on client’s standards.
• Must not pose a safety hazard to employees working in the same general area.

Other Essential Functions

• Must be able to obtain an operators’ license for non-tactical/tactical Government-owned equipment/vehicles, as required.
