Air Logistics Senior Manager - Allentown PA

About the role

The Air Logistics Senior Manager Express Operations will oversee warehouse and airport ramp operations, collaborating with internal and external partners to ensure efficient handling of Express packages. This role involves managing a diverse and multicultural workforce, leading team members to meet carrier performance standards, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, lead, and control staff to foster a collaborative, motivated, and proud work environment.
• Develop and mentor next-level leaders and managers in both leadership and management skills.
• Supervise staff to meet business objectives and achieve successful outcomes by adhering to carrier's Service Level Agreements.
• Ensure operational leadership monitors and instructs Lead Agents and Warehouse Agents on safety rules and standards. Wear a safety vest at all times.
• Participate in recruiting activities, interview candidates, and make hiring decisions.
• Aid in employee relations and conflict resolution, prepare performance appraisals, and provide input for counseling and terminations.
• Demonstrate diligence to maintain security under local Airport Police, TSA, and USCBP Regulations, challenging unauthorized persons.
• Prepare various operational reports, including weekly and monthly data, and special reports as needed.
• Complete injury and damage reports as required.
• Authorize and ensure post-accident and post-injury testing is conducted as necessary.
• Assist customer representatives in providing information and data for compliance reports and audits.
• Maintain records and appointments necessary for airport employment, such as airport badge appointments, USCBP interviews, or other government-required meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Eight to ten years of leadership and management experience within the warehousing, logistics, or related industry.
• Leverage leadership skills to train and develop personnel.
• Show attention to detail, capable of managing multiple priorities accurately.
• Adapt to a fluid work environment and work across a 24/7 schedule.

Preferred Skills

• Airline/Logistics/Transportation experience preferred.
• Interpersonal skills (customer service, dependability).
• Physical abilities (lifting up to 75 lbs., standing for an entire shift, moving long distances).
• Proficiency in software and computer programs (MS Office).

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures, rain, wind, hot, and cold weather.
• Stand for an entire shift and move long distances across facilities.
