Job Description
Aid the Manager and Supervisor in managing the Air Export Department, ensuring efficient and timely freight movement while providing exceptional customer service.
- Operate smoothly and promptly manage freight processes
- Create and prepare various documents for international transportation
- Negotiate rates with contracted vendors for securing space and services
- Accurately and timely bill clients and vendors
- Enter data accurately and promptly into the operating system
- Communicate with customers to arrange international export shipments, adhering to customer service standards
- Comply with all regulations, including internal policies and external requirements
- Identify and improve upon process efficiencies within the department
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures
- Monitor shipment reports to ensure customer satisfaction
- Support the supervisor in daily reviews, audit files, and meeting operating process standards
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and customers
- Evaluate vendors based on company policy and implement corrective action plans if necessary
- Maintain and monitor accounts payable within 30 days
- Ensure company credit procedures are followed and utilized effectively
- Resolve accounting issues and discrepancies
- Promote productivity tools and suggest system/process improvements
- Encourage a culture that aligns with Expeditors' 10 cultural attributes
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of industry-specific qualification (country-specific)
- Good market and product knowledge
- Effective interpersonal skills, including listening, comprehension, clear communication, and obtaining positive results
- Proactive and strong organizational skills
- Good computer skills (Excel, Word)
- Hazardous Materials certification (preferred)
- Fluent in English
