About This Role
The Air Cooled Production Lead is responsible for providing hands-on leadership and technical support across all Air Cooled production lines (Lines 1–5) to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacture of products. This role serves as a key liaison between production teams, technicians, and cross-functional departments, driving operational excellence through workforce coordination, continuous improvement initiatives, adherence to Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) standards, and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve in a working Lead role, providing hands-on support across all Air Cooled production lines (Lines 1–5).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Cook up and schedule technicians to ensure adequate coverage and support across all production lines.
- Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Manage the sustainment of 5S workplace practices, resulting in improved workflow, reduced waste, and enhanced operational effectiveness.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standard work instructions accurately.
- Assemble components in accordance with production schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and effectively communicate and support implementation of corrective actions and process enhancements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, while supporting overall department housekeeping efforts.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and operational excellence.
- Support production demands by working mandatory overtime, weekends, and extended shift hours as required.
- Exhibit flexibility and willingness to learn and operate multiple workstations within the department.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, Line Leads, technicians, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and alignment of priorities.
- Provide exceptional customer service while fostering a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.
- Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, and a positive attitude.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or assembly environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous lead experience in manufacturing or assembly environments
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles (standard work, 5S, kaizen, visual management)
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams and supporting departments
- Experience with MES systems and production tracking tools
- Proven ability to lead frontline teams in a fast-paced, high-mix environment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
