Aide Trainee - Selinsgrove Center (1st and 2nd Shift)
As an Aide Trainee with the Selinsgrove Center, you will be part of a team that helps Pennsylvania's most vulnerable citizens reach their fullest potential. Selinsgrove Center is located in a nice rural location just outside the Borough of Selinsgrove, only a couple minutes from town, Selinsgrove Area Schools, and Susquehanna University.
About the role
As an Aide Trainee, you will be responsible and accountable for learning the duties of a Residential Services Aide and begin with a paid in-classroom and on-the-job training program. You will learn how to care for and assist people with Intellectual Disabilities living at the Selinsgrove Center. Upon successful completion of a six-month probationary period as an Aide Trainee, you will be promoted to a Residential Services Aide.
Responsibilities
- ISP Support: Assist with completing assigned portions of assessments and planning documents to ensure accurate information
- Training Implementation: Conduct assigned training activities to help individuals learn daily living skills
- Progress Monitoring: Record and report information to support updates and improvements to each individual’s support plan
- Team Participation: Share observations and insights with team members to support coordinated care
- Environmental Support: Help maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic living environment
- Advocacy and Respect: Model appropriate behavior and uphold individual rights and dignity
Schedule
- Training hours: 1st shift 8:00am - 4:30pm
- Post-training hours:
- 1st shift 6:00am - 2:30pm, with a 30 minute lunch
- 2nd shift 2:00pm - 10:30pm, with a 30 minute lunch
- Rotating break day with every third weekend off
- Travel and overtime as needed
Pay
Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,038.00 (before taxes).

Qualifications
A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of:
- Medical examination
- Drug screening
- Criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance (this position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act)
