Responsibilities
- Engage and train attorneys on effective use of firm-approved generative AI tools.
- Provide 1:1 and small-group coaching on integrating AI into workflows and client service models.
- Create practical guides and use-case playbooks for AI utilization.
- Evaluate and manage AI training vendors.
- Partner with Professional Development and Training teams to develop role- and practice-specific training opportunities.
- Collaborate with practice group leaders to identify and refine high-value AI use cases.
- Pilot and iterate AI-enabled workflows, gather feedback, and scale successful approaches.
- Develop communication strategies and content to drive AI adoption and demystify AI for busy practitioners.
- Act as a visible and trusted internal champion for AI utilization.
- Partner with the GCO to reinforce firm AI policy and messaging.
- Stay current on legal industry trends and client requirements related to AI.
- Support attorney transitions to new or modified AI tools.
- Engage with AI vendor customer success teams during tool evaluations, pilots, and rollouts.
- Define and track adoption and impact metrics.
- Collaborate with other members of the Innovation team to collect feedback and identify pain points.
- Provide regular reports and updates on progress and recommendations to the Chief Client & Innovation Officer.
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Experience working in innovation, knowledge management, practice management, legal operations, or similar roles within a law firm, legal department, or other legal service provider.
- Hands-on experience utilizing legal generative AI tools.
- Strong understanding of legal services and law firm economics.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Client and practitioner-first mindset with ability to focus on lawyer needs.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across departments and with various personalities.
Preferred
- Experience practicing law in a law firm or corporate setting.
- Designing and delivering learning programs for adult professional audiences.
- Successful background in interpreting technical AI tool explanations for lawyers.
Thought Leadership, Policy Reinforcement, and Change Management
- Develop communication strategies and content to drive AI adoption and demystify AI for busy practitioners.
- Partner with the GCO to reinforce firm AI policy and messaging.
- Stay current on legal industry trends and client requirements related to AI.
Vendor & Tool Utilization Support
- Develop initial and ongoing training plans tied to specific AI tools.
- Support attorney transitions to new or modified AI tools.
- Engage with AI vendor customer success teams during tool evaluations, pilots, and rollouts.
- Develop integration and adoption strategies.
Metrics, Feedback, and Continuous Improvement
- Define and create a plan to track adoption and impact metrics.
- Collect feedback from attorneys and professional staff to identify pain points, barriers to adoption, and emerging needs.
- Translate feedback into clear action items.
- Provide consistent reports and updates to the Chief Client & Innovation Officer.
