About the role
Serve as a key legal advisor on artificial intelligence matters for a leader in the Business Services space, shaping how emerging AI initiatives are developed and governed. Partner with technical, privacy, and business stakeholders to build practical compliance frameworks, mitigate legal risk, support contracting, vendor oversight, and data governance efforts tied to AI deployment. Location: Austin, TX – US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.
Responsibilities
- Serve as lead legal advisor on AI, guiding on regulations and risk mitigation
- Partner with technical teams to incorporate legal and compliance requirements into AI systems
- Lead privacy and data governance support for AI initiatives
- Provide legal support for AI contracting and vendor management
- Oversee AI governance program, managing risk assessments and compliance
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD), LLB, or equivalent legal degree
- Minimum of 8 years of legal experience
- Licensed member of the bar in good standing
- Experience with technology contracting and legal/regulatory compliance
- Substantial familiarity with AI and privacy laws
- IAPP AI and privacy certification preferred
- Strong drafting skills with proven ability to provide business-oriented legal advice

Pay
$200,000 – $230,000 annually
