About the role
Axiom Space is seeking a resilient, high-energy AI&T Space Suit Technician to join our mission-driven team. This position involves testing and maintaining space suits and related hardware, assisting in engineering activities, and performing various tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Train less experienced technicians in maintenance, assembly, testing, repair, and processing of flight and training hardware
- Incorporate engineering changes and perform functional performance testing of space suit components or related hardware
- Assist engineering in fit checks for suited subjects, manned test support, suited chamber events, and classroom training event support
- Support transportation responsibilities to deliver hardware to various events
- Perform daily tasks such as reading engineering drawings/schematics, equipment specifications, and test procedures
- Update various job-related databases as required
- Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing anomalies, recommending corrective actions
- Communicate with customers, other technicians, engineers, logistics, and test subjects during EVA training events
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- 7-9 years of related experience
- Experience with pressure systems or familiar with pressurized test equipment
- Ability to read mechanical drawings
- Track record of delivering outcomes in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- Good judgment to problem-solve proactively, positively impacting hard challenges
- Past experience delivering high quality results under tight deadlines

Physical Requirements
- Sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time)
- Lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time)
Work Environment
Generally, a lab environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
Requirements
- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones
