About the role
Leidos’ Defense Systems / Manufacturing is seeking a talented AI&T Test Technician to join our team at our PIF location in Huntsville, AL. This position will work alongside a group of test engineers (electrical/mechanical) and test technicians, performing hardware and software configuration as well as acceptance and qualification testing of DoD deployable units.
Responsibilities
- Manage production assembly, fabrication of materials, and test operations including set-up, calibration, and operation of machines used in the production and testing process.
- Work alongside a group of test engineers (electrical/mechanical) and test technicians, performing hardware and software configuration as well as acceptance and qualification testing of DoD deployable units.
- Handle all tasks assigned by the supervisor and may aid in writing reports and updating records.
- Participate in setting up test equipment, performing functional testing of launcher hardware, confirming software functionality, setting up dynamic/climatic test environments, and subsystem AI&T.
- Conduct work in a manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED with at least 3 years of relevant experience in assembly, integration, and/or acceptance testing.
- Relevant skills in one or more focus areas, good interpersonal skills, and a desire to work in a highly focused technical team.
- Basic skills using hand tools, electrical troubleshooting (DMM), and MS Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong near-vision and color discrimination to identify specific wire colors, read microscopic gauge labels, and route cables according to schematics.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Frequent lifting and transfer of production kits and spools weighing up to 35 lbs.
- Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
Qualifications
- Experience in acceptance testing including electrical devices, mechanical functions, software integration, and RF measurements.
- An associate degree or higher in a relevant electrical, mechanical, or manufacturing field.
- Familiarity with working with electrical schematics and cable/wiring diagrams.
- Advanced experience reading mechanical assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and other manufacturing documentation.
- Organizational skills to document test procedures, test reports, and support configuration management of the test equipment.
- Explosive/Ordinance training.
- Torque and/or Safety Wire.
- Experience in the functional testing of avionics components.
- Material handling equipment: forklifts and/or overhead cranes.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $50,700.00 - $91,650.00.
