AI Software Engineer, Senior
About the role
As an AI software engineer, you will develop user-focused solutions that enhance organizational efficiency and facilitate better decision-making. Booz Allen is a leader in AI services, and we seek a senior software engineer to create and implement AI and ML solutions that address national security challenges.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement complete end-to-end solutions that modernize client systems
- Ensure that solutions consider the broader ecosystem and future functionality
- Deepen your skill set in Kubernetes and MLOps
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy AI solutions
- Work with clients to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience building production-grade applications using Python, Rust, Go, Scala, or Java
- 2+ years of experience building or maintaining production-grade RESTful APIs or software interfaces
- 1+ years of experience designing, configuring, and implementing software systems in production environments
- Experience with CI/CD tools, including GitLab CI or Jenkins, and source control systems, including Git
- Experience with Linux systems, networking, and containerization, including Docker or Podman
- Knowledge of federal cybersecurity best practices and standards, secure coding, and compliance requirements
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science field and 7+ years of experience with software engineering
- 11+ years of experience with software engineering in lieu of a degree
Skills
- Experience with AWS services and emulation environments, including LocalStack
- Experience with secure on-prem deployments leveraging hypervisors, including ESXi
- Experience with Ansible for configuration management and infrastructure automation
- Experience working with Agentic AI solutions
- Experience integrating with SIEMs, firewalls, or endpoint protection systems
- Knowledge of orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, including on-prem or air-gapped
- Security+, Linux+, or DevOps-related Certification

Pay
The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD).
Schedule
Our work model supports collaboration and engagement, with some positions requiring occasional in-person work at Booz Allen or customer facilities.
