About the role

As an AI software engineer, you will develop user-focused solutions that enhance organizational efficiency and facilitate better decision-making. Booz Allen is a leader in AI services, and we seek a senior software engineer to create and implement AI and ML solutions that address national security challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement complete end-to-end solutions that modernize client systems
  • Ensure that solutions consider the broader ecosystem and future functionality
  • Deepen your skill set in Kubernetes and MLOps
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy AI solutions
  • Work with clients to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience building production-grade applications using Python, Rust, Go, Scala, or Java
  • 2+ years of experience building or maintaining production-grade RESTful APIs or software interfaces
  • 1+ years of experience designing, configuring, and implementing software systems in production environments
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, including GitLab CI or Jenkins, and source control systems, including Git
  • Experience with Linux systems, networking, and containerization, including Docker or Podman
  • Knowledge of federal cybersecurity best practices and standards, secure coding, and compliance requirements
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science field and 7+ years of experience with software engineering
  • 11+ years of experience with software engineering in lieu of a degree

Skills

  • Experience with AWS services and emulation environments, including LocalStack
  • Experience with secure on-prem deployments leveraging hypervisors, including ESXi
  • Experience with Ansible for configuration management and infrastructure automation
  • Experience working with Agentic AI solutions
  • Experience integrating with SIEMs, firewalls, or endpoint protection systems
  • Knowledge of orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, including on-prem or air-gapped
  • Security+, Linux+, or DevOps-related Certification

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD).

Schedule

Our work model supports collaboration and engagement, with some positions requiring occasional in-person work at Booz Allen or customer facilities.
