AI Platform Engineer
About the role
Cornelis Networks seeks an AI Platform Engineer to help shape how our engineering organization uses AI to design, develop, validate, and support advanced networking products. This is an emerging role at the intersection of software engineering, developer platforms, infrastructure, workflow automation, and applied AI.
Responsibilities
Own the AI Platform: Configure, tool, and operate infrastructure for every Cornelis engineer’s private, domain-aware AI assistant. Ensure it is current, reliable, and tailored to specific technical domains like drivers, firmware, ASIC register maps, and hardware/software integration.
Build Out the Agent Workforce: Design, implement, and improve a growing workforce of autonomous agents that automate engineering operations. Identify high-value automation opportunities, define agent behavior, and build to platform standards.
Maintain and Improve the Infrastructure: Keep the platform running reliably, manage deployments, and harden it as it grows. Debug infrastructure issues and write automated validation to catch errors before they impact production.
Write and Improve Agent Skills and Prompt Engineering: Author and tune structured workflows and system instructions to make AI agents useful for deep engineering work. Ensure reliability and groundedness in production.
Lead the Inner-Source Contribution Process: Review PRs from engineers across teams, enforce standards, and ensure new additions are robust and cost-effective.
Manage Cost and Value Across the Platform: Track platform costs and value, make decisions about model selection, token usage, and tool choice, and report on platform performance to engineering leadership.
Evaluate and Adopt New Technologies: Stay updated on the AI landscape and recommend improvements to the platform. Upgrade the platform before falling behind the latest trends.
