AI Fluency Education Lead
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Anthropic is seeking an AI Fluency Education Lead to create courses and content that teach people how AI works and how to work well with AI. Most people currently learn about AI through fragmented sources like coworker prompts, viral videos, or LinkedIn screenshots, making it difficult to distinguish short-term tactics from enduring skills. AI Fluency aims to close this gap by teaching foundational concepts and durable mindsets that help people use AI effectively and safely, regardless of the specific tool or model they encounter. This role is model-agnostic and does not cover product-specific training.
In this role, you will focus on creating and scaling educational content—writing, filming, prototyping, and publishing—while building systems to adapt and distribute that content to diverse audiences. You’ll design modular, openly licensed materials (videos, exercises, frameworks, one-pagers) and develop AI-assisted pipelines to remix and tailor them for specific learners. You’ll collaborate with other teams to prioritize audiences, topics, and formats, and you may invent entirely new educational formats that leverage AI in innovative ways.
You’ll work closely with a sister research team that defines and measures AI fluency, translating their findings into practical, accessible learning experiences for audiences like nurses, teachers, small business owners, policymakers, and community leaders.
Responsibilities
- Own the curriculum for general-public AI fluency end-to-end, including roadmap, sequencing, quality standards, and decisions about what to include or exclude.
- Curate and create AI fluency materials—curricula, courses, videos, essays, exercises, and interactive lessons—while setting quality standards for partner-created content.
- Build AI-assisted production pipelines to accelerate the journey from idea to published content while maintaining high quality.
- Translate research frameworks into relatable, practical materials for audiences with diverse professional backgrounds.
- Collaborate with external institutions, such as educators, public-sector organizations, and community groups, to co-create and refine content.
- Prototype novel learning formats that integrate AI, such as personalized learning paths, conversational practice, and adaptive assessments, and test them with real users quickly.
- Measure the effectiveness of teaching methods, focusing on comprehension and behavior change rather than just completion rates.
Qualifications
- Deep experience designing content and curricula for adult learners at scale, with a strong sense of what makes learning stick in self-directed settings.
- Exceptional writing skills for general audiences, particularly the ability to distill technical concepts into intuitive mental models for novices.
- Experience creating multimedia learning content end-to-end (scripts, video, interactive elements) and managing partnerships or agencies to deliver multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Hands-on experience using Claude and other LLMs as part of your own production workflow.
- Enough technical comfort to build lightweight tooling and automations to enhance your work pipeline.
- Strong, experience-based opinions about pedagogy, coupled with a willingness to adapt when data suggests a different approach.
- Satisfaction in creating materials that others can adapt and teach independently, without your direct oversight.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where processes are developed iteratively.
- Proven track record of making people fluent in a subject at scale, even without a formal background in AI or education.
Preferred Experience
- Built an education program or content function from the ground up.
- Background in public education, civic technology, or policy communication.
- Experience in AI/ML education, learning science, cognitive science, or behavioral research.
- Co-created content with external institutions and partners, beyond vendor or agency relationships.
- Built AI-augmented content pipelines.
