AI Deployment Strategist, Enterprise
About the role
Scale's Enterprise Applications business is growing rapidly, focusing on developing reliable AI systems for critical decision-making. As an AI Deployment Strategist, you will play a central role in helping our largest customers implement groundbreaking GenAI solutions that transform their industries.
Responsibilities
The customer outcome: You are the on-the-ground DRI. Renewals and expansions occur because the deployment was successful, and its success is your responsibility.
Repeatable delivery: Ensure deployments are on time, of high quality, and adhere to standards you set and enforce. Push internal or external teams when necessary.
The next workstream: Identify new business value within accounts before the customer does, framing cases and collaborating with AE and product teams.
Unsticking what's stuck: Address roadblocks by working with Engineering, Product, Finance, Operations, and others to resolve issues.
Feedback that shapes the product: Bring insights from customer projects to product and leadership, enabling actionable changes.
Requirements
Experience from one of three areas:
- Operators at companies deploying enterprise AI or data products (e.g., Palantir DS or FDE-style roles)
- Strategy consultants from BCG, McKinsey, or Bain moving into tech
- Technical PMs or engineers pulled into the business and customer side
5-8 years in high-growth, high-ambiguity environments. A technical or quantitative background (CS, engineering, economics, statistics, STEM) is helpful.
Low ego, high hunger. You take direct feedback well, identify your weaknesses, and tackle difficult problems head-on.
A diagnose-before-you-solve instinct. You ask multiple questions before implementing a solution.
No jargon. You can translate technical concepts into business impact for a CFO and a delivery plan for an engineer.
Technical credibility. No engineering degree required; you are curious enough to challenge engineering leads if needed.
Commercial instinct. You think in terms of business levers and articulate ROI without prompting. You spot upsell logic that might have been overlooked.
Grit. You persist through challenging periods. We are cautious of those who switch jobs frequently.
Willingness to travel 30-50% of the time, potentially including international trips.
