Our platform, XpertCoding, applies ensemble machine learning and transformer neural networks to automatically assign ICD and CPT codes, improving accuracy, compliance, and revenue cycle efficiency. We work with large scale clinical data, including EHRs, clinical notes, and claims, to reduce errors and costs while enabling physicians to focus on patient care. As a small, fast moving team, every engineer directly impacts production systems and customer outcomes.Position SummaryWe are seeking an AI Data Scientist to guide and grow our expanding AI/ML team while developing and optimizing machine learning models for clinical documentation and medical coding. This person will set technical direction, mentor team members, and own delivery quality in addition to hands on model work.ResponsibilitiesGuide day to day technical direction for the AI/ML team: assign priorities, review model work, and remove blockersBuild, train, and deploy machine learning models, including transformer neural networks and ensemble methodsMentor and develop team members, including onboarding and pairing new hiresDevelop and maintain scalable data pipelines in PythonWork with healthcare datasets, including EHR/EMR, ICD, CPT, and clinical notesDesign experiments, evaluate models, and document results and decisions for the teamCollaborate with clinicians and engineers to refine models for production useReport on team progress and model performance to leadershipRequired QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field2+ years of hands on experience with transformer neural networks (TNN), including training and fine tuning for production useProficiency in PythonExperience with ML libraries such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and LightGBM/XGBoostHands on experience with ensemble methods and neural networksStrong knowledge of model evaluation techniquesPrior experience mentoring or leading other data scientists or engineers preferredAbility to work full time on site in Scottsdale, AZJob Type: Full timeSalary: $130,000 to $180,000BenefitsEquity, commensurate with experience, discussed at offer stageSigning bonus, commensurate with experience, discussed at offer stageRelocation assistanceDental insuranceFlexible scheduleHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offParental leaveVision insuranceEducation: Bachelor's (Required)Ability to Commute: Scottsdale, AZ 85258 (Required)Work Location: In person
