AI and ML Engineer
About the role
As an AI and ML Engineer, you'll support clients in applying AI to accelerate effect generation on targets of opportunity. You'll lead statistical analyses on business processes using ML techniques, deploy and maintain models, and collaborate with a diverse team of professionals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine AI and ML prototypes
- Implement Generative AI, including LLMs, Fine-Tuning, and RAG
- Work with AI frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Jax
- Use Agentic AI libraries such as LangChain, LangGraph, and Hugging Face
- Deploy models via REST APIs using FastAPI, Flask, or Django
- Manage data transfer, management, and orchestration using Apache Kafka, Dask, Ray, and Apache Airflow
- Utilize Kubernetes for container orchestration
- Collaborate with stakeholders, data engineers, data scientists, solutions architects, and product owners
- Lead the development of mission-critical solutions
- Define ML strategy in support of clients
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience with AI and ML
- 2+ years of experience in Python
- Experience with Generative AI, including LLMs, Fine-Tuning, or RAG implementation
- Experience using AI frameworks, including PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Jax
- Experience with Generative AI and Agentic AI libraries, including LangChain, LangGraph, Hugging Face libraries, and cloud-based environments such as Google Vertex and AWS SageMaker
- Knowledge of modern software design patterns, including microservice design or edge computing
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Mathematics, Physics, or CS
- Master's degree in CS or Statistics preferred; Doctorate degree in CS or Statistics a plus
Skills
- Experience with GCP, Azure, or AWS
- Experience with Google products, including Gemini or Vertex AI
- Experience with AWS Bedrock or Azure Foundry
- Experience deploying models via REST APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django
- Experience with data transfer, management, and orchestration frameworks such as Apache Kafka, Dask, Ray, and Apache Airflow
- Experience managing Kubernetes container orchestration platforms, including Rancher, OpenShift, k3s, or Kubeadm

Pay
$77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD)
Schedule
Full-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in Booz Allen’s benefit programs. Individuals that do not meet the threshold are only eligible for select offerings, not inclusive of health benefits.
Remote: If this position is listed as remote, there may still be occasions when you are required to work in person at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
