About the Role

Responsible for providing quality training in the areas of AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or BLS for the Huntsville Hospital Training Center. Teaches under the current guidelines for cardiac pulmonary resuscitation outlined by the American Heart Association. Focuses on student information retention and successful skill development of AHA content. Provides training and support for employees and the community, as well as supporting the Training Center’s associated instructor network.

Supports management of the Training Center’s AHA Community Instructor community.

Responsibilities

  • Teach AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or BLS courses following current AHA guidelines.
  • Ensure students achieve information retention and skill development.
  • Provide training and support for hospital employees and the broader community.
  • Support the Training Center’s instructor network.

Requirements

  • Current Instructor, Instructor-Trainer, or Education Sub-Committee member certification for ACLS and/or PALS.
  • BLS Instructor status preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED (required).
  • Nursing degree from an accredited college or university (preferred).
  • Licensed healthcare professional.
  • Minimum of 2 years teaching AHA classes with positive evaluations.
  • Strong customer service skills and history.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • In-depth understanding of AHA guidelines.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office products (preferred).
