About the role

Responsibilities
- Provides assistance and support services related to the enforcement of agricultural or weights and measures laws and agricultural pest control.
- Knowledge of basic record keeping techniques.
- Principles and practices of customer service.
- Learn basic insects and plants related to the area of assignment.
- Read maps and plot trap locations on maps.
- Follow verbal and written directions.
- Make simple explanations of policy, procedure, and law to the general public.
- Keep records and prepare reports.
- Read, write, and speak English at a level necessary for satisfactory job performance.
Requirements
- Driver's License: A valid California Driver License, Class C or higher, may be required at the time of appointment.
- Physical Abilities: Perform a wide variety of physical tasks such as standing for long periods of time; walking long distances; stooping; stretching; bending; climbing stairs; and lifting items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds; differentiate between colors at a level necessary to identify various insects and weeds.
