About the role
We seek an experienced individual to lead marketing and merchandising as AGM/GM, responsible for acquiring reputable buyers for our newly established 100% export-oriented knit composite company. Nannu Apparels Limited is a subsidiary of Nannu Group, alongside prominent companies such as Nannu Spinning Mills Limited (92 tons/day yarn production) and Nannu Textiles Mills Limited (153 million meters/year fabric production).
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the overall marketing, merchandising, and business development strategy.
- Acquire buyers, procure orders, handle correspondence, and communicate with buyers regarding capacity booking.
- Oversee costing, pricing, and negotiations with buyers to reach final acceptable prices.
- Maintain updated knowledge of material cost, consumption, production capacity, and technical aspects to ensure direct sales and wealth maximization.
- Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle from conceptualization, design, and manufacturing to delivery.
- Create innovative ideas to meet seasonal/fashion trends and market requirements.
- Oversee the design and development team to align with fashion trends.
- Identify potential delays and challenges in meeting KPIs such as on-time delivery, order fulfillment, and adherence to AQL.
- Plan, develop, implement, and direct the marketing and merchandising team for multiple accounts.
- Develop strategies using various marketing techniques to increase product sales and new business.
- Play a significant role in long-term planning, including operational excellence in garment fabrics, yarn, trims, and accessories.
- Ensure daily updates on production status, sampling, and lab dips are provided to buyers.
- Monitor approval status, pre-production, photo samples, delivery, and supply chain/backward linkage management.
- Analyze market trends, customer focus, target markets, and buying psychology with a strong understanding of products.
- Execute orders according to planned TNA to ensure on-time shipment with the right quality and quantity.
- Follow up with planning, production, and commercial teams to ensure timely shipments.
- Provide daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to management on ongoing activities and issues.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by management.
Requirements
- 10–20 years of experience in the garment industry.
- Expertise in knit garment manufacturing, merchandise planning, and technical knowledge of garment production.
- Strong understanding of apparel sourcing, knit garment production, national account management, and textile industry knowledge.
- Proficiency in fashion merchandising.
