Responsibilities
- Change Leadership — Serve as a change agent who influences mindsets and behaviors and demonstrates courage to challenge, advise, and coach teams.
- Team Coaching — Partner with the Program Agile Coach to engage and coach teams through maturation using direct coaching, expert connections, or peer guidance while maintaining an unbiased perspective and supporting psychological safety.
- Agility Culture — Foster and encourage a culture of agility, continuous improvement, and quality assurance at both team and enterprise levels.
- Technical Coaching — Employ coaching techniques to help teams address gaps in delivery processes with a strong focus on TDD, BDD, XP, secure coding, pair programming, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
- Training Support — Prepare materials and assist with presentations and written communications to support training and education for team members and stakeholders.
- Agile Adoption Strategy — Design strategies for adopting and scaling Agile, including introduction, education, team development, sustaining methodologies, and continuous improvement.
- Agile Education — Educate employees on Agile principles, providing tools, training sessions, and Agile thought leadership.
- Team Mentoring — Mentor teams on Agile methodology, offering feedback, answering questions, and providing hands-on support across varying roles and levels.
- Agile Process Implementation — Develop Agile processes through analysis of existing workflows, elicitation of user stories, and application of industry best practices and standards.
- Agile Practice Enablement — Implement Agile principles and practices across all levels and departments, increasing collaboration, predictability, transparency, and innovation.
- Behavioral Change Support — Motivate teams to adopt new practices by highlighting issues with the status quo, explaining benefits, and helping overcome obstacles.
- Hands-on Coaching — Help teams form new work habits through coaching, partnership, and feedback.
- Technical Guidance — Provide advice on technical direction, tools, and processes to demonstrate the value of Agile-based development.
- Continuous Improvement — Drive improvement through practical examples that encourage adoption of Agile technical practices and build team capabilities.
- Metrics Promotion — Promote appropriate metrics to demonstrate that good practices are being adopted.
Requirements
- Experience coaching, leading, and guiding full-scale Agile transformations as an external coach.
- Proven experience leading and facilitating team meetings and work sessions with technical and non-technical participants at all organizational levels.
- Expertise in Scrum and Kanban Agile frameworks.
- Experience with Jira and various software/Agile tools.
- Strong coaching and facilitation skills including building trust, creating psychological safety, and consensus building.
- Solid understanding of DevOps principles and practices including continuous integration, continuous deployment, and automated testing.
- Versed in software delivery methodology and quality assurance processes.
- Solid understanding of Agile development techniques including TDD, BDD, and XP; experience in Agile testing practices.
- Preferred Agile Coaching certification (e.g., Certified Team Coach or Agile Certified Professional).
