About the role

Haydon Materials, LLC, located in Central KY, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway company established in 1952. For over 70 years, Haydon Materials has been providing the various aggregate and stone products needed for commercial, industrial, and residential developments, as well as many of the major infrastructure and public works projects throughout the bluegrass state. Haydon Materials is currently seeking an Aggregate Technician based out of our quarry located in Bardstown, Kentucky. The position reports to the plant manager. A successful candidate for this role will be a reliable self-starter with previous aggregate quality control experience.

Responsibilities

  • Report to Quality Control manager
  • Communicate test results in a timely manner
  • Visually inspect stockpiles, material sources, and truck loads at plant sites
  • Daily monitoring of stockpile construction to comply with segregation & contamination standards. Notify management immediately if contamination is observed
  • May be required to fill-in to meet production goals
  • Comply with all MSHA and company regulations & policies
  • Responsible for inspecting materials being produced, testing samples, interpreting and reporting results, and conducting routine and special laboratory testing to ensure conformance with (ATSM), (AASHTO), and (DOT) standards
  • Maintain laboratory housekeeping and appearance standards along with product quality
  • Travel required with company vehicle

Required Work Experience

  • 2+ years of quality control experience
