Aggregate Plant Foreman (Gravel)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Olen Corporation is seeking a Foreperson to lead and support operations at our surface limestone, sand, and gravel mining facilities in central Ohio. This role is crucial for ensuring safe, efficient, high-quality, and environmentally responsible production.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Demonstrates commitment to Core Values and Safety policies.
• Works within and promotes a Team concept.
• Assists the Plant Manager in overseeing daily operations, including production, quality, maintenance, and safety compliance.
• Ensures compliance with MSHA regulations, environmental standards, and company safety policies.
• Supports plant personnel and coordinates with equipment operators, mechanics, and quality control teams.
• Maintains accurate records of production, maintenance, and safety inspections.
• Supports preventative maintenance programs and coordinates repairs to minimize downtime.
• Monitors production output and adjusts processes to meet quality and volume targets.
• Acts as acting Plant Manager in the absence of the Plant Manager.

Education/Experience

• Industry / Leadership EXPERIENCE preferred.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or construction management is a plus.
• Experience as a gravel foreman is a plus.
• A current Ohio Foreman’s license through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources is required.

Skills And Abilities

• Strong knowledge of crushing, screening, and material handling equipment.
• Familiarity with MSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.
• Self-starter with a willingness to assist with a variety of tasks.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Good judgment and problem resolution skills.
• Collaborative and self-motivated.
• Diligent.

Work Environment

The position is based in Columbus, Ohio, and involves working in an outdoor mining environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions. Weekend or extended hours may be required.
