Agentic AI Machine Learning Engineer
About the role
The opportunity is to create AI and ML enabled solutions that help solve tough challenges in the Defense and Intelligence sectors. You'll design, build, and deploy AI systems that transform client operations, enhance data accessibility, and optimize AI and ML systems.
Responsibilities
- Create and deploy production-grade AI and ML solutions, including LLMs, agents, and complex automation frameworks
- Work within cloud environments like AWS and Azure, deploying and integrating models using Docker and Kubernetes
- Evaluate LLM performance and build observation layers for stakeholders using tools like Grafana, Langfuse, LangSmith, and Phoenix
- Design and implement service-based software applications for scalable use
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet mission requirements and future functionality
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a ML engineer and building production-grade ML solutions
- 3+ years of experience working within data science or data research
- 2+ years of experience deploying and integrating production-grade ML models
- Experience with large language models, deep learning, reinforcement learning, and AI agent frameworks
- Experience connecting agents to APIs, cloud platforms, or databases
- Experience evaluating LLM performance and building observation layers for stakeholders
- Experience evaluating architectural tradeoffs and designing robust service-based software applications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Master’s degree preferred
Skills
- Programming experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, llama.cpp, and vLLM
- Experience with client engagements, project work, and business development
- Experience with deep learning, computer vision, NLP, or signal processing
- Experience deploying and managing data brokering solutions like Kafka, Red Panda, Confluent, and related services

Pay
The estimated annual salary range for this position is $99,000 to $225,000 (annualized USD).
Schedule
Full-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in Booz Allen’s benefit programs. Individuals that do not meet the threshold are only eligible for select offerings, not inclusive of health benefits.
