About the Role
As the Agent in-Charge, you will provide exceptional individualized customer service, educational consulting, and patient record management. You will also support and direct dispensary staff under the guidance of the Assistant General Manager (AGM). Approximately 30% of your time will be dedicated to inventory-related activities, ensuring accurate records and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and patients with a positive attitude.
- Assist in regular inventory cycle counts and report discrepancies to retail leadership.
- Retrieve cannabis products from the vault and provide them to Cannabis Advisors for sale.
- Advocate for cannabis customer care and educate customers on its use as a wellness product.
- Open and close the store as directed by the AGM or General Manager (GM).
- Help customers navigate cannabis products and their applications.
- Verify all received products are properly tagged and accompanied by required paperwork per state and local regulations.
- Support the Inventory Manager with reconciliation of physical inventory in the State tracking system and POS systems.
- Confirm online orders are accurate prior to customer pick-up.
- Assist Cannabis Advisors with product or POS system questions.
- Build rapport with regular customers to promote repeat business.
- Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including bank drops and daily payouts as directed.
- Provide information on types, methods, and efficacy of cannabis products (without offering medical advice).
- Participate in ongoing cannabis education and training.
- Support managers and other Cannabis Advisors as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation and store front.
- Ensure compliance with detailed local and state regulations.
- Complete transactions at the POS and ensure the state-monitored inventory system updates accurately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2+ years of retail or hospitality experience.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Desire to learn about cannabinoids, terpenes, and product application/consumption methods.
- Flexibility to accommodate scheduling demands, including weekends, regularly scheduled shifts, and holidays.
- Proficiency in using office equipment (computers, printers) and software (Word, Excel, email).
- Ability to learn and understand Federal, State, and local laws relating to the cannabis industry and safety regulations.
Physical and Mental Demands
- Frequently required to remain stationary, move, and position oneself.
- Occasionally move packages weighing up to 35 lb.
- Able to stand up to 90% of the time.
- Hearing abilities within the normal audio range, with or without correction.
- Vision abilities include close observation and the ability to adjust focus.
- Mental and physical requirements must be met to successfully perform essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Working Environment
Work is performed in a retail environment with a moderate noise level. The characteristics described are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.
