Agent in Charge

About the Role

The Agent in-Charge is responsible for providing exceptional individualized customer service, educational consulting, and patient record management. They will provide support and direction to dispensary staff at the direction of the AGM, with 30% of their time focused on inventory-related activities.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and patients with a positive attitude.
• Assist in regular inventory cycle counts and report discrepancies to retail leadership.
• Obtain cannabis product from the vault and provide it to Cannabis Advisors for sale.
• Advocate for cannabis customer care and educate customers on wellness applications.
• Open and close the store as directed by the AGM or GM.
• Help customers navigate cannabis products and their uses.
• Verify all received product is properly tagged and accompanied by required paperwork.
• Support the Inventory Manager with reconciliation of physical inventory in state tracking and POS systems.
• Confirm online orders are accurate prior to customer pickup.
• Assist Cannabis Advisors with product or POS system questions.
• Build rapport with regular customers to promote repeat business.
• Work collaboratively in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Handle cash transactions, including bank drops and daily payouts.
• Provide information on types, methods, and efficacy of cannabis products (no medical advice).
• Participate in ongoing cannabis education and training.
• Support managers and other Cannabis Advisors as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation and store front.
• Ensure compliance with local and state regulations.
• Complete transactions at the POS and update the state-monitored inventory system.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 2+ years of retail or hospitality experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Desire to learn about cannabinoids, terpenes, and product application/consumption methods.
• Flexibility to accommodate scheduling demands, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to use office equipment (computers, printers, software like Word, Excel, email).
• Understand and apply federal, state, and local cannabis industry laws and safety regulations.

Physical and Mental Demands

• Frequently required to remain stationary, move, and position oneself.
• Occasionally move packages weighing up to 35 lb.
• Able to stand up to 90% of the time.
• Hearing abilities within the normal audio range (with or without correction).
• Vision abilities include close observation and focus adjustment.

Working Environment

Work is performed in a retail environment with moderate noise levels.
