Agent, Baggage Porter RDU

About the role

The Baggage Porter transports baggage from the ticket counter to the bag room using a cart when the baggage belt is down or over capacity.

Responsibilities

• Transport baggage to the bag room or bag belt
• Abide by TDA and Airline policies and procedures with minimal supervision
• Complete all required training and only perform tasks for which you are fully trained
• Report any safety hazard or incident immediately

Requirements

• Be pleasant, cooperative, and maintain composure in difficult or high-stress situations
• Be reliable, responsible, and open to change or variety in the workplace
• Be sensitive to others' needs and willing to take on responsibilities and challenges
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver License
• Successfully pass a fingerprint-based background investigation per Title 14 CFR Part 1542 and TSA requirements
• Authorization to work in the U.S. as defined in the Immigration Act of 1986

Physical Demands

• Carry a 70-pound suitcase from the floor to 18 inches
• Carry a 70-pound suitcase in front of you with both hands for up to 25 feet
• Perform repetitive tasks involving bending at the waist and knees, squatting, and twisting
• Sufficient vision and physical dexterity to safely perform essential job functions

Work Environment

• Airport environment, both indoors and outdoors
• Exposure to extreme outdoor temperature ranges

Schedule

Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Hours vary based on flight schedules and may increase or decrease due to seasonal changes.
