About the role

This position serves as the Lead Fiscal Officer within the MDH Infectious Disease & Environmental Health Services.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and coordinates the development, implementation, and monitoring of the agency's operating budget.
• Leads fiscal planning, budget analysis, and financial reporting for multiple programs.
• Supervises and provides guidance to fiscal staff, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Prepares and presents detailed budgetary reports and forecasts to senior leadership.
• Reviews and analyzes budget requests, expenditure trends, and revenue projections.
• Develops and implements fiscal policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accountability.
• Collaborates with program managers to align budgetary resources with agency goals and objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Five (5) years of professional experience in fiscal management, budget analysis, or financial administration, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory or lead capacity.
• Experience with governmental budgeting and financial reporting systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Pay

$71,805.00 - $113,243.00 per year.
