AfterSchool Enrichment Teacher

Position Overview

Breakwater Enrichment Center is accepting applications for part-time afterschool Enrichment Teachers in their vibrant and dynamic School Year AfterCare Program. The AfterCare and Enrichment programs serve children grades K-8 from Breakwater School as well as students from surrounding public and independent schools. For more information, visit our website.

About the Role

We seek creative, compassionate, and energetic Enrichment teachers who have a strong interest in child-centered learning and community building. Enrichment Teachers develop and deliver 6-8 week-long Enrichment classes that run weekly for a set amount of time (1-2 hours, based on teacher preference).

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver 6-8 week-long Enrichment classes that run weekly for a set amount of time (1-2 hours, based on teacher preference)
• Work collaboratively with the program as a whole
• Offer 1-5 Enrichment classes per week based on availability
• Teach classes from 3:45 pm – 5:30 pm in 1-2 hour increments (depending on the topic and age group the class is for)

Qualifications

• History of professional work experience with children in Kindergarten through 8th grade
• Demonstrated ability to engage in positive relationships with staff, supervisors, children, and families
• Experience in planning, designing and leading engaging lessons

Requirements

• Able to lift 40 pounds, haul or drag up to 25 pounds, sit, stand, squat, and otherwise get down on the level of children
• Visual and auditory abilities sufficient to monitor child’s behavior and vocalizations

Benefits

Enrichment Teachers receive $35 per class hour taught.

Schedule

The position begins the week of September 8th, 2026. Hours for the position are part-time during the school year, with a highly flexible schedule for Enrichment teachers. Enrichment classes run from 3:45 pm – 5:30 pm in 1-2 hour increments (depending on the topic and age group the class is for).
