About the role
St. Mark’s Preschool in St. Paul, MN is seeking an Afternoon Preschool Care Coordinator for PreK students, ages 3–5 years old, for 30 hours per week. Monday–Friday 12:00–6:00 pm on days that preschool is in session.
Responsibilities
- Create a safe & loving, positive, Christ-like atmosphere in which each child’s personal dignity is respected.
- Maintain a neat, orderly, clean, and safe space where the children are supervised and protected from harm.
- Engage the students in indoor and outdoor play with art projects and activities.
- Help the children learn conflict and social emotional skills.
- Collaborate and communicate with other afternoon preschool staff.
- Foster open communication with the students and parents on a daily basis.
- Manage child pick-ups and assist families as needed.
- Complete all of the closing tasks necessary to ensure the preschool is ready for the next day.
Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Able to walk, squat, kneel, move around and possibly lift up to 50 pounds.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related teaching field or equivalent experience working with preschool-aged children.
- Possess passion and skills necessary to provide loving, faith-filled, and consistent care for children ages 3–5 years old.
- Possess excellent communication skills to speak with parents about positive and difficult things.
- Complete background check, code of conduct, and Virtus training once hired.
- Complete all of the MN state childcare licensing requirements including CPR/First Aid upon hire.
