After School Teacher

About the role

Apollo After School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to provide after-school care and enrichment clubs at local schools. This is a seasonal position following the school district calendar for the 2026–2027 school year.

Responsibilities

- Provide a high-quality learning environment and manage activities that extend the school day. - Assist in the implementation of classroom curriculum and weekly lesson plans when needed. - Ensure the safety and security of children enrolled. - Follow designated schedule and curriculum, maintain a routine for students. - Effectively attract and retain students through enthusiasm, teaching skills, and patience. - Assist with homework completion.

Requirements

- Confidence to run a classroom alone. - Applicants must be 18+ and have a high school diploma or equivalent. - A team player who can collaborate with peers. - Ability to assess and solve problems associated with elementary-aged children. - Ability to create and maintain a fun, caring, and responsive educational environment. - Minimum of one year working with school-age youth, ages 4-10 in a school/after-school setting. - Candidates must possess a current CPR and First Aid certification obtained through in-person training.

Qualifications

No degree is required, but a degree in education is highly valued. Relevant experience or a related degree may also be considered.

Pay & Schedule

Compensation: $20 - $24 per hour (depending on experience).

Schedule

- Before Care: Monday through Friday between 7 am to 9 am - Recess: Monday through Friday between 10 am to 1 pm - After Care: Monday through Friday between 2 pm to 6 pm *Work schedules may vary and are subject to change based on assigned location, program enrollment, school schedules, and operational needs.
