After School Teacher (ASP)
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate lessons and activities for ASP students in the Lower Division
- Guide students in their social-emotional development, maintaining expectations and support for positive and productive student behavior
- Actively engage and interact with ASP students
- Assure the safety and well-being of ASP students at all times
- Regularly communicate with families, colleagues, and administrators regarding students’ development at ASP
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Experience teaching Early Childhood
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in teaching and learning & experience in working in a culturally diverse community
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience in writing student comments, communications to parents, and other school-related documents
- Creative problem-solving skills and a positive attitude that allow one to cooperate and collaborate effectively with others
- Motivation for and interest in professional development
- High integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- The ability to effectively interpret, navigate, mediate, and resolve conflict in a timely manner
- Proficient or the ability to learn Google tools and other applications as adopted by the school, such as Veracross, Atlas etc.
- The ability to sit and stand uninterrupted for 30-minute periods of time
- The ability to traverse on and across variable surfaces (e.g. level flooring, stairs, turf, gravel, asphalt, etc.)
- The ability to lead, supervise and accompany students to all areas of the school campus (including all indoor and outdoor areas), including during day-to-day responsibilities and in case of emergency
- The ability to position oneself (e.g., stand, sit, crouch, and kneel down) in order to support students
- The ability to work outdoors, year-round, in variable weather conditions
- The ability to lift and hold 15 lbs overhead
- The ability to occasionally move transport (e.g., move or drag) 25 lbs
- The ability to maintain focus and composure in an energetic and, at times, loud environment

Compensation
$26.71 hourly. The comprehensive compensation details, inclusive of any additional benefits, will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer.
