After School Caregiver

Job Summary

BAYADA Habilitation is seeking a Companion/Buddy to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the local community. Afternoon shifts are available Monday through Friday between 12pm and 6pm. This role offers a flexible schedule, weekly pay, and a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

About the Role

As a Companion/Buddy, you will build long-lasting relationships with clients, supporting them in developing independence and achieving their goals. You will also be part of a team that fosters an environment where people with disabilities can thrive as valued members of their communities.

Responsibilities

• Support clients in various daily activities such as budgeting, socializing, shopping, using public transportation, and exercise.
• Ensure client safety and well-being in the home and community.
• Transport clients to community activities and participate in their favorite hobbies and activities.
• Be attentive to meet the individual’s needs with dignity and respect.

Requirements

• No prior experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years old.
• Patient, empathetic, and dedicated personality.
• Ability to read and write in English.
