Position Responsibilities
- Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
- Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Safeguards confidentiality regarding school matters.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding any information or material obtained in the service of the organization.
- Adheres to safety training and protocols on a daily basis.
- Assists and supervises children during all activities.
- Assists children with meal/snack time and clean-up.
- Ensures site appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment are appropriately maintained.
- Communicates appropriate information to parents.
- Affixes and supervises children during all activities.
- Assists in enrollment, recording, and submitting daily attendance records, and any other required documents assigned by site coordinator.
- Adheres to policies, procedures, and childcare guidelines in a pro-active manner.
- Builds a positive relationship with each after-school participant and fosters positive connections between participants.
- Actively engages with children at all times with the goal of fostering the positive development of each child and the group.
- Interacts professionally and appropriately with children, parents, school staff, community members, and partners.
- Effectively manages assigned group.
- Maintains and enforces progressive discipline policy.
- Reports observations and incidents (e.g., discipline, accidents, inappropriate social behavior, etc.) to site coordinator or school principal.
- Participates in and evaluates the effectiveness of activities and events.

Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: High Diploma with demonstrated relevant equivalent experience in working with school-age children and/or youth development.
- License and Credentials: Reliable transportation, valid driver license, valid vehicle insurance, must pass archdiocesan Safe Environment Requirements and background screening.
- Minimum Knowledge and Skills: Understand and apply basic child and adolescent development principles, communicate and develop positive relationships with youth, adapt, facilitate, and evaluate age-appropriate activities with and for the group, involve and empower youth, identify potential risk factors (in a program environment) and take measures to reduce risk, care for, involve, and work with families and community, work as part of a team and show professionalism, demonstrate the attributes and qualities of a positive role model, interact with and relate to youth in ways that support asset building, be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team, have good written and verbal skills, have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
