After School Care Worker-Notre Dame Catholic School

Position Responsibilities

Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.

Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Safeguards confidentiality regarding school matters.

Maintains confidentiality regarding any information or material obtained in the service of the organization.

Adheres to safety training and protocols on a daily basis.

Develop and manage the daily activities and needs of the after school care program as needed.

Assist and supervise children during all activities.

Communicate appropriate information to parents.

Participate in and evaluate the effectiveness of activities and events.

Complete all other relevant programmatic duties assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma with relevant equivalent experience in working with school-age children and/or youth development.
• Experience: At least 2 years experience in working with children ages 3yrs and up (preferred).
• Licenses and Credentials: Reliable transportation, valid driver license, valid vehicle insurance, First Aid/CPR/AED training certification, must pass archdiocesan Safe Environment Requirements and background screening, must pass Texas DPS Fingerprint-based Applicant Clearinghouse screening.
• Knowledge and Skills: Understand and apply basic child and adolescent development principles, communicate and develop positive relationships with youth, adapt, facilitate and evaluate age-appropriate activities with and for the group, involve and empower youth, identify potential risk factors (in a program environment) and take measures to reduce risk, care for, involve and work with families and community, work as part of a team and shows professionalism, demonstrate the attributes and qualities of a positive role model, interact with and relate to youth in ways that support asset building, be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team, have good written and verbal skills, have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
