Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintain and grow program enrollment.
- Manage budget for payroll and supply expenses.
- Ensure licensing compliance in all areas of program operations as required by AZDHS.
- Follow standard operating procedures to ensure high quality programs.
- Hire, train, and mentor program staff.
- Provide performance feedback and coaching to direct reports.
- Model and instill appropriate child guidance and classroom management strategies.
- Model and instill Great Hearts 9 Core Virtues (responsibility, perseverance, integrity, honesty, courage, citizenship, humility, friendship, wisdom).
- Oversee implementation of provided classical curriculum.
- Cultivate relationships with academy employees, students, and parents.
- Represent programs at campus events, meetings, etc.
- Utilize provided marketing strategies.
- Follow protocols for responding to and documenting student behavior and significant events.
- Escalate incident reports and significant events to Regional Manager.
- Adhere to Great Hearts policies, procedures, and business initiatives.
- Attend regular meetings at the Home Office and other local business locations.
- Substitute in classroom as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required/Preferred Education
- Must be at least 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent, possess or obtain valid Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance card.
- Meets qualifications of Facility Director in accordance with the Arizona Department of Health Services Bureau of Child Care Licensing preferred.
- Required to obtain CPR/First Aid certification upon hire.
Required/Preferred Skills
- The successful candidate will be a principled, professional leader with an independent work ethic and a heart of service to others.
- Demonstrate sound business judgment and wisdom in dealing with people.
- Possess requisite experience in the field of liberal arts and/or education, as well as experience working with children and children’s programming.
- Preference will be given candidates who have worked in a licensed program.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
Physical Functions
- Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching.
- May be required to move or position equipment up to 15 pounds approximately.
Employment
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.
Travel
May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.
