Spectrum Health & Human Services (SHHS) respectfully partners with adults, children, and families as they recover from behavioral, emotional, mental health, and/or substance-related disorders by offering individualized and meaningful opportunities of hope, empowerment, and support to achieve self-defined improvements in their quality of life.

This is a remote position, but occasional in-office attendance may be required for trainings or other needs. Candidates must live in or near Erie County.

About the Role

Ensure all clients from Spectrum and other contracted agencies receive the necessary support and services when accessing the SHHS after-hours crisis line. The role focuses on client safety, crisis management, and stabilization in the community using natural supports, professional resources, and established crisis plans to prevent unnecessary hospital visits.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional support to clients and their families who call the after-hours phone line; initiate appropriate services to stabilize crises (e.g., telephone support, CARES, Mobile Crisis Teams, Crisis Services, 911).
  • Deliver effective crisis intervention services and empower clients/families to utilize natural supports and existing professional linkages.
  • Share accurate information about community resources to assist with ongoing crisis stabilization.
  • Obtain and document current client demographics, including caller’s name, client’s name, phone numbers, address, and date of birth.
  • Maintain progress notes, records, reports, and legal documents in compliance with standards for all governing and contract agencies.

Requirements

  • Commitment to strength-based, family-focused values aligned with WRAP core values, crisis intervention best practices, and agency principles.
  • Excellent engagement and crisis intervention skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, families, staff, and community contacts from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Empathy and respect in all interactions with clients and others contacting SHHS.
  • Adaptability to changes in regulatory, contract, and program requirements.
  • Proficiency in working with multiple Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

Qualifications

  • Licensed or credentialed staff preferred (e.g., LMSW, LMHC, CASAC).
  • Bachelor’s Degree is acceptable if the applicant meets the experience requirement.
  • Three (3) years of full-time paid experience providing direct services to at-risk children, adolescents, or adults, including crisis interventions, safety planning, and service coordination.

Pay

$30.00/hr - $35.00/hr
