The Learning Journey
The Learning Journey is a 12-session structured pathway (90 minutes each, via Zoom), delivered over approximately six months through a series of interactive online sessions.
- Built a shared understanding of child wellbeing, child protection, family-based care, and systems reform
- Explore how the Family-First Framework (link is external) can help strengthen national systems so every child can thrive in a family
For Whom
Leders, practitioners, and other non-government actors engaged in, or seeking to engage in, child protection and care reform, in Africa.
What Participants Will Gain
- A clear understanding of how the Family-First Framework supports national reform and collaboration
- Practical tools to analyze system strengths, identify gaps, and plan next steps toward a Family-First model
- Engage with peers and practitioners working to strengthen systems for children and families around the world
How the Journey Works
- Each session focuses on a specific aspect of the Framework, with contributing organizations and regional leaders co-facilitating sessions in their areas of expertise
- Sessions are designed as two-way discussions: sharing content, tools, and experience while inviting participants to reflect, apply, adapt, and contribute insights from their own contexts
Participation Details
- Participation is free of charge, but requires active engagement and consistent participation throughout the journey
- Designed for those who are committed to applying the learning in their own context and contributing to reform efforts for children and families
