Affordable Housing Associate (New York)

About the Role

Katten seeks a highly qualified Associate to join its Affordable Housing and Community Development Practice Group in the New York office.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in multifamily and/or commercial real estate at a nationally recognized law firm
• Experience representing developers, property owners and lenders in development and financing matters, including those involving city and state bond agencies, as well as agency financing programs (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac)
• Excellent academic credentials
• Strong analytical and writing skills
• Client-team focused approach
• Ability and desire to take ownership of their work
• Admitted to the New York bar

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in tax-exempt bond financing
• Experience with low-income housing tax credits
• Experience with agency financing programs (FHA, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae)
• Experience with HUD subsidy programs

Pay

The estimated salary range for this role is $245,000 - $320,000. Salary determinations are made based on numerous factors, such as, but not limited to experience/job history, class/graduation year, and practice area of the selected candidate.
