The full salary range for the Assistant Controller - Financial Audit and Reporting is $93,200 - $174,200 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $140,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. The Assistant Controller of Financial Reporting and Controls reports directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor-Business & Financial Services and Controller. This position manages the accuracy of financial statements, ensures GAAP/GASB/regulatory compliance, supports executive leadership by preparing financial reports. Provides budget-to-actual variance analysis and supports the CFO in strategic financial planning and forecasting and establishment of reporting templates for the campus. Requirement Required Experience Requirements Experience 8 - 13 years of related experience. Requirement Minimum Requirements Expert level accounting related knowledge and skills; in-depth knowledge of the accounting function.Expert knowledge of analytical procedures used in accounting projects of complex scope which involve unique issues.Ability to gather, organize, analyze, and report on data that is complex in nature.Expert ability to effectively communicate complex information to management verbally and in writing.Highly experienced using financial transactions and financial systems, as well as related policy, accounting, and unique and complex regulatory compliance requirements.Expert knowledge of common desktop/web applications.Advanced understanding of the interrelationship between procedures and desired results.Due to the intensity of fiscal year end closing, vacations are not normally granted in July. Weekend and evening work may be required. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments. Internal and external contacts often pertain to accounting and financial reporting matters of significance to the department and the organization. Is considered a subject matter expert and often recognized as an expert externally in the industry. This position manages the accuracy of financial statements, ensures GAAP/GASB/regulatory compliance, supports executive leadership by preparing financial reports. Provides budget-to-actual variance analysis, full balance sheet, and supports the CFO in strategic financial planning and forecasting and establishment of financial reporting templates for the campus. This position is responsible for developing financial models, strategies and recommendations which inform executive level decision making and support campus-wide integrated strategic planning processes to maximize income on cash balances and long term working capital, and determine feasibility of funding capital projects and initiatives that are consistent with liquidity, cash flow, and risk budget requirements.
