Responsibilities
- Assist alternative licensure candidates in meeting the requirements of the Colorado Teacher Quality Standards
- Conduct a minimum of 5 school visits for each assigned alternative licensure candidate during each semester
- Provide feedback on each lesson observed
- Complete and submit observation reports for each observation
- Evaluate alternative licensure candidate’s proficiency on Colorado Teacher Qualities Standards
- Communicate with Alternative Licensure Instructor regarding candidate’s performance
- Attend all required Alternative Licensure Program (ALP) meetings
Requirements
- Necessary Special Requirement: Requires travel to and from teaching sites throughout the week
- The final candidate must be able to perform this essential function of the job with or without accommodation
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education or related field from an accredited college or university
- Teaching experience in a public or private school setting
- Has held a license to teach
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field
- At least 5 years of teaching experience in a public or private school setting
- Supervisory experience in an education setting (e.g. as a principal, department chair, university supervisor, or as a previous mentor/cooperating teacher)
- Experience in supervising or mentoring new teachers
- Holds a current Colorado teaching license
Pay
Final salary is based on the number of credit hours assigned at a rate determined by university policy. Rate of pay per credit hour assignment can be between $1264 - $1482.
Schedule
Qualified candidates will be expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire.
