About the role

Aero Repair Inspection Supervisor- 3rd Shift at PROENERGY is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all inspection and parts preparation operations for as-received, work-in-progress (WIP), and final products, including new and repaired turbine engine and power generation parts. This role directs and supports a diverse team including NDT Inspectors, CMM Inspectors, Parts Inspectors, Clean Line Operators, and Parts Prep Operators to ensure the highest standards of quality, cost-effectiveness, and schedule adherence.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all inspection activities, including visual, dimensional, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods such as Fluorescent Penetrant (FPI/LPI), Eddy Current (ET), Magnetic Particle (MPT/MPI), and Radiographic (RT) testing.
  • Ensure the proper setup, calibration, and preventive maintenance of all inspection equipment, including CMM machines and various NDT and dimensional tools.
  • Guide the team in establishing appropriate techniques for part examination, applying testing criteria according to specifications, and accurately evaluating results.
  • Oversee the precise measurement of parts using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), including program creation and data review to identify deviations.
  • Supervise parts preparation processes, including piece part cleaning to remove grease and corrosion, and abrasive blasting for cleaning, coating preparation, and surface treatments.
  • Ensure the team properly uses cleaning compounds, chemical solutions, spray guns, and pneumatic/electrical grinding tools.
  • Guarantee the proper maintenance and control of all equipment, tools, fixtures, and safety equipment associated with parts preparation.
  • Assign job tasks to team members and ensure all work assignments are completed according to established procedures.
  • Foster a cross-functional team environment, ensuring staff meets or exceeds core competencies for safety, quality, productivity, and teamwork.
  • Support team members in maintaining accurate logs (e.g., NDT hours) to facilitate advancement in certification levels and skills.
  • Ensure all inspection and shop traveler records are complete and organized, and oversee the reporting and filing of test results.
  • Be accountable for the issuance of “Certificates of Conformance” to specified material condition requirements.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and procedures, maintaining a safe and clean work environment across all supervised areas.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; some college or trade school is preferred.
  • NDT Certification and/or an educational background in NDT.
  • Significant experience in a relevant field, such as NDT inspection, CMM operation, parts inspection, or manufacturing operations.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret complex drawings, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Technical understanding of inspection methods and procedures, including various NDT methods.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to follow detailed procedures and directions.
  • Experience with the operation of industrial equipment such as cranes, forklifts, or other lifting devices.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T principles and symbols.
  • Experience with CMM programming, particularly with software like Camio.
  • Experience in grit blast processing operations.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with common hand tools and pneumatic/electrical grinding tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned tasks and interpret inspection results.
  • Knowledge of proper safety practices and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) related to repair and manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or repair environment.
  • Experience with CMM programming, particularly with software like Camio.
  • Experience in grit blast processing operations.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with common hand tools and pneumatic/electrical grinding tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned tasks and interpret inspection results.
  • Knowledge of proper safety practices and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) related to repair and manufacturing.
