About the role

Responsible for developing and building on Sulzer’s growth into the aeroderivative gas turbine marketplace on the legacy Rolls Royce gas turbine fleets (Avon, Allison/501K) and associated Power Turbines, with a focus on power generation, pipelines, LNG, data centers, and hydrocarbon processing facilities. Within these markets and specific to this equipment, all applicable product lines for Sulzer Turbo Services Houston to include: field services, shop services, new and refurbished part sales, lease of equipment, and engine replacements will be pursued. The Specialist will work with current Sulzer customers and develop new business and opportunities, travel as necessary to meet sales targets, manage a funnel in Sulzer CRM system (Salesforce), review RFQs, support proposal development, and articulate larger projects to senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Have an annual order intake budget developed by employee’s forecast and management’s input.
  • Review and understand technical documents (RFQs, technical specifications, operational work scopes, budgets, etc.) to support the structure and creation of commercial proposals.
  • Define and agree upon specific end users/customers.
  • Review completed ADs to ensure accuracy and completeness to support operations.
  • Convert operational information (scopes/budgets) to commercial proposal format per standard practices or as requested by the customer.
  • Provide and coordinate technical support to the general sales organization in the overall quotation process.
  • Make pricing recommendations by reviewing and understanding financial information, including:
    • Workscope costs and budgets (labor, materials).
    • Operational trends and performance (scope and cost deltas).
    • Customer historical data and trends (scopes and pricing).
    • Market and competitive data (market price, competitive bids, competition).
  • Review and maintain records for successful and unsuccessful Sulzer gas turbine opportunities based on opportunity type and turbine model.
  • Provide cost and price analysis information for proposals as needed (e.g., margin sheets).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or previous experience and/or technical proficiency in the turbomachinery industry, including knowledge of aero-derivative turbomachinery repair (steam and gas turbines, centrifugal, axial and process screw compressors, expanders, and other associated high-speed rotating equipment such as generators, pumps, gearboxes, etc.).
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with personnel from diverse backgrounds at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Must be a team player and prepared to support the goals of Sulzer Rotating Equipment Services (RES).
  • Understanding of basic financial concepts.
